Testimonials

“I wanted to formally thank you for the time and effort you put towards our Community Library for our Chatterbox Early Learning and Childcare centre in Paddington. Your creativeness, imagination, dedication, and thoughtfulness towards our fabulous library has not gone unnoticed. You went above and beyond and exceeded our expectations! It is wonderful to have men like you within our community and I know that our families and children are going to adore the library.”

Monique Stockwell, 2IC/Educational Leader

“Toombul Croquet Club Inc would like to thank the men’s shed for helping us with the repair of our trolleys. These trolleys carry our hoops and balls, and they were in not too good a condition. The hoops were falling off and generally it was a nuisance. They are jolly heavy to carry, so having them repaired is a great help. However, Peter came along and collected the trolleys, and has done a great job on them. To come along and collect them and bring them back was also a great help. Thanks to Peter and Mick. The Men’s Shed is such a splendid a splendid organization and we at Toombul C.C can’t thank you enough. ”

Hedi Trask, President, Toombul Croquet Club Inc

FAQ

How do I become a member?

We have open inclusive membership and all members of the community are welcome at our shed. Prospective members (18+) can visit during normal opening hours for a tour of the shed and our facilities.
We have no Membership Application Fee:
Yearly Membership Subscription: $65.00
Daily Attendance Surcharge: $3.00 is under review

Can I make a donation?

We welcome all donations, building materials, tools, fasteners, paint and items suitable to recycle or repurpose. We can pick up or alternatively you can drop it off to us at the shed.
Like most NFPOs we need your support to enable us to provide the facilities, materials, tools and equipment for member activities and community projects. Cash donations are also welcome.
We are also looking for a new Shed. Our current arrangement has required us to contract to smaller space in the same location but we are keen to expand to meet our commitment to meet our Member's needs & doing so free us up to assist more of our Local Community who have Downsized, lost their Familial Rock & Recent arrivals navigating their way in a a new location.

Do you have Deductible Gift Recipient Status?

Yes, we are a not for profit charity and incorporated non-commercial community group. Donations to our shed are tax deductible as we are registered with the ATO as a Deductible Gift Recipient..

What do you do with donated items?

Firstly if we can use the items they will be put to good use in our shed. Surplus, damaged or broken items not required by the shed are inspected and refurbished. These surplus items are then either passed on to other sheds, worthy recipients or sold off to raise club funds.

How is the Shed funded?

The shed is modestly funded by member subscriptions (covering our AMSA insurance), donations, fund raising events (Bunnings are great supporters & our Sausage Sizzle days are our primary funding source to pay our most recent Rent-hike) and the occasional grant fills our ever present need for safety equipment consumables. Our second most valuable income source is recycling containers, followed by generous donations... there is no job too small.  We are grateful to a small number of local businesses who sporadically donate tools and materials. To enable us to continue to provide the resources for members & Community we are constantly in need further help and support from individuals, businesses and organisations.
